SUPERINTENDENT’S AWARD OF MERIT RIBBON

The Superintendent’s Award of Merit Ribbon is an authorized ribbon award for the Chicago Police Department. Ribbon includes metal frame. Item does NOT include pin clutches with butterfly clasps, ribbon rack or any appurtenances (stars / oak leaves). Those items are sold separately.

Award Description: An award granted to any Sworn or Civilian Department Member for an outstanding accomplishment that has resulted in improved administration, improved operation, or substantial savings in manpower or operational costs wherein the member has gone far beyond the requirements of his normal assignment to contribute to a more effective police service, or for outstanding police work that has brought great credit to the Department in a case of unusual public interest.

Presentation: This award is presented to Sworn Department Members in the form of a ribbon bar, medallion and certificate. Civilian Department Members are presented this award in the form of a Chicago Alternative Policing Strategy (CAPS) lapel pin and certificate.
