POLICE OFFICER OF THE MONTH AWARD RIBBON

The Police Officer of the Month Award Ribbon is an authorized ribbon award for the Chicago Police Department. Ribbon includes metal frame. Item does NOT include pin clutches with butterfly clasps, ribbon rack or any appurtenances (stars / oak leaves). Those items are sold separately.

Award Description: An award granted to a Sworn Department Member or each Sworn Department Member of a team whose performance of duty during a specific month was characterized by such exceptional professional skill that it is merited recognition by the entire Department.

Presentation: This award is presented to Sworn Department Members in the form of a ribbon bar and certificate. Although this award was established on September 4, 1975 it was only presented in the form of a certificate. The corresponding ribbon bar wasn’t established until January 8, 1988.
