The Police Blue Star Award Ribbon is an authorized ribbon award for the Chicago Police Department. Ribbon includes metal frame. Item does NOT include pin clutches with butterfly clasps, ribbon rack or any appurtenances (stars / oak leaves). Those items are sold separately.
Description: Granted to any Sworn Department Member who has been seriously, critically or fatally injured while in the performance of police duty. In addition, this award may be conferred if injury was averted by wearing body armor. This award will be limited to those cases resulting from attack by an assailant, personal combat or the performance of an act of valor.
Presentation: This award is presented to Sworn Department Members in the form of a ribbon bar, Medallion and certificate.
